FAQs

Q: I don’t have a college admissions essay to use. Can I still apply for the scholarship?
A: Yes. You can use an essay that you wrote for a class, another scholarship, or you can write an essay on the topic of your choice. Just make sure it’s 1000 words or less!

Q: I'm a home-schooled student. Am I still eligible to participate in the contest?
A: Absolutely. Please submit your essay through our website

Q: I am a US citizen and high school student, but I currently live outside the country. Am I eligible to participate in the contest?
A: Yes, you are, as long as you are a US citizen.

Q: I am a US citizen but I’m currently living in a country other than the US. I can’t fill out the scholarship form because my address doesn’t fit. How can I apply?
A: Email scholarship@collegeprowler.com and include the following information:

• Your full name
• Current complete mailing address
• Phone #
• Email address
• Gender
• Birth date
• Year in school
• Current school name
• Current complete school address
• Schools applied to (if applicable)
• Schools accepted to (if applicable)
• YOUR ESSAY! (1000 words or less)

Q: Can I snail mail the essay?
A: No. Please submit your essay through our website.

Q: Will I get an e-mail back confirming that you've received my essay?
A: No. We’ll only email you if we have a problem opening up your essay.

Q: If I don't win one month, can I enter again?
A: Only one entry per person, per calendar year is allowed. Multiple entries may disqualify you from winning the scholarship.

Q: If I don't win one month, can I enter again with a different essay?
A: No. Only one entry per person, per calendar year is allowed.

Q: Can graduate students apply?
A: No. The contest is open to high school students and college undergraduates only.

Q: I am an adult student. Can I apply?
A: If you are currently enrolled in high school or in an undergraduate college program, you are eligible to apply.

Q: If I submit an essay to the scholarship contest, can I still use it for my college applications?
A: Yes.

Q: I entered one of your contests in a previous year. Can I enter again this year?
A: Yes, you are still eligible.

Q: How do I know if I've won the scholarship?
A: We will contact all contest winners via e-mail. All winners will be posted on the website.
