Tell It Like It Is
If you are walking around campus and hear someone yell “FU,” don’t be offended. They probably just have school spirit. But the administration might be offended. Did you know that it’s not a T-shirt slogan anymore? They banned the selling of merchandise with the FU print, much to the dismay of students.
“Fordham is a unique college. You won’t be pledging sororities or sleeping in giant lecture classes. The school is small and challenging, with a big core curriculum that can really help or really hurt you.”
There is no place in the world like New York City—too clichéd? Well maybe, but can you handle studying in the Big Apple?
“The city is a huge distraction. It’s hard to do homework when there’s a parade outside your window.”
“What is with the sudden inflation of NYC transportation? The subway fare went up, then, a few months later, cab prices skyrocketed. It’s annoying.”
“A lot of bars get creepy here because there are lots of perverted old men.”
“I went broke my first month here. Everything is more expensive, but the main thing is that I wanted to try every New York landmark right away.”
But students don't complain about everything...
"The campus is beautiful, and the professors are amazing. I’m really looking forward to getting an internship somewhere in Manhattan. I am very proud to graduate from Fordham.
”The Jesuit tradition, the core curriculum, and the vital location of Fordham define the school’s base foundation as a hands-on liberal institution. Rose Hillers enjoy typical college activities while sorting through their own little Bronx venues, while Lincoln Center students take advantage of what New York City’s upscale community has to offer.
