This really depends on the subject being taught in each class. I’ve found that when I’m learning new information, the class becomes more and more interesting. This is especially true when it’s a subject you enjoy, which should often be the case, as it’s up to the student to choose their major.

Overall Experience
Iowa -
Iowa City, IA
Most students who have come to the University of Iowa are happy with what they’ve found, and few are willing to trade their experiences for anything else. With a combination of solid academics and a college town atmosphere that caters to the social scene, UI students find themselves in a well-balanced environment. Iowa isn’t an Ivy League school, but it does provide a strong education with a focus on career choices; nor is Iowa a party school, but its students know how to relax and have fun while keeping up with their workload.
Because it is such a large institution, UI can seem faceless and intimidating at first. This quickly dissolves as the tight-knit social scene among Iowa City’s college students presents itself. With a huge variety of clubs, sports, and other activities at and around UI, plus Iowa City’s bars and downtown area, there are as many ways to meet people and make friends as there are people to meet. Those students who have the worst experience at Iowa (or at college in general) are the ones who don’t become involved with things that are going on around them. While Iowa City might not be somewhere you decide to stay for the rest of your life, it can be the ideal atmosphere for getting a college education and learning to live on your own. The experience of the University of Iowa is largely what each student makes of it; there is plenty to learn and take advantage of at UI, both in and out of the classroom.

"I wouldn’t change schools if I had to. I love Iowa and everything about it. The campus is absolutely beautiful, and they offer such a wide variety of services and things that are easy to take advantage of. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else."

"I would never want to be anywhere else. I am so glad I decided to go to Iowa instead of Northwestern. I feel that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It’s situated just close enough to cities like Chicago so that you get the big city experience, but far away enough so that it’s not completely overwhelming."

"I picked like nine schools I wanted to go to, and after visiting Iowa and seeing the campus, I was so in love! It looks like a campus/college town right out of a movie! I wasn’t sure about going here at first, and I was hesitant about the sorority thing, but I cannot be any happier that I chose to come here. I love it so much! I have never met anyone who doesn’t like it. Even when my friends come to visit, they all love our school. Its amazing academically, on top of having a great social scene. You would be crazy not to go!"

"I absolutely love the University of Iowa. There is so much opportunity here, as well as great and friendly people and tons of things to do."

"Overall, my experience here has been a very positive one, both academically and socially. I believe that it is much harder than high school, but I have adjusted. Now, socially, I have new friends and a new environment to experience. I love it all!"
