Report Card
The professors are well educated, and most that I’ve had are nice. In your lower-division classes, there will be about 300 people in a class. At a smaller private school, you will have about 30 people in all your classes, whether it’s upper or lower division. Here, you will interact more with the teacher’s assistants, who are grad students. They will be the ones who will grade your exams. Professors just lecture.

Overall Experience

When students contemplate their overall experience at UCSD, they usually base their decisions around the friends they have made and the good memories they have. Although academics at UCSD are world-class, they are not always the most important factor in the overall experience. Social life at UCSD is known to be a little boring; many students wished they had a more active social life, but most still managed to find friends with whom they created lasting memories.
After adjusting to life at a large university, students enjoyed their time at UCSD and could not imagine going anywhere else. They especially liked living in such a beautiful area and attending a challenging research university. Living on their own for college was in invaluable experience and taught many students just as much as lectures and labs. Most of all, students were appreciative of their friends, and the people they met had the biggest impact on their overall experience.
