There are a ton of good looking girls. And only at NYU will you find a really dorky boy with a drop dead gorgeous girlfriend. The straight boys are kindof hard to find, and most either have a girlfriend, or are undatable...but luckily for us girls, there is a whole city out there! As for the gay guys, they make great friends, but eliminate a lot of the men from the dating pool...at least for girls.

Students say that the best part about attending NYU is living in New York City. Students’ biggest complaint is the large tuition. Other complaints were that there is not much of a campus or student bond, and that the school is run too much like a business. But in general, those who go to NYU cite many benefits of living in the city, such as great nightlife, food, and internship opportunities.
NYU requires a certain taste and is not for everyone. Those who love city life and the arts tend to do best here. For those who prefer keg parties and large organized student events, such as sports and Greek life, this is probably not the right place. Whatever you’re thinking when you apply to this school, just remember that if you attend, you should be prepared for a mix of demanding academics and wild experiences in the city. Finding a balance between the two is key at this big-city school.

"Basically, I think NYU is the place to be. There is just so much out there. Anything you could want is waiting right there at your fingertips."

"The major difference between NYU and any other school is that it’s in the city, so there’s not really a campus, which means there’s not really any campus life (in comparison to other schools, anyway). The students are mostly independently driven and are here because they want to live in Manhattan (yes, they want a good education, too). It’s like no other experience, and if you like the city, there’s something for everyone. You won’t relive high school; you’ll grow a lot as a person, and although it’s been rough at times, I wouldn’t trade it for the world."

"I love NYU. It’s a different experience for different people, depending on your major. I’m an actress, and it is perfect for me. If you are artsy, go to NYU. If not, then think it over, but it really is a great place to be. I love living in NY."

"I just graduated, and I miss it already. The academics are great, and as for student life, I commuted for all but one semester and I regret having done so. I wish I had lived in the dorms the entire time. NYU is a great school, and NYC is a great city. I would definitely recommend coming here. If it is what you are looking for; it’s great!"

"At first, going to NYU was a very difficult experience for me because it was such as big change. But I started increasingly to realize how good I had it compared to other kids who were stuck in the middle of nowhere for college. NYU is a great preparation for the real world because it is basically just that."
