The cafeteria food is just a small grade above what you'd expect to get in a high school cafeteria, and it doesn't lend itself to healthy eating. It's a good idea to switch your spending between grocery shopping, which you can do on campus with your meal plan, and going to the cafeterias and the Hub, which has a Quiznos, Einstein Bros., and other fast food places that will accept your meal plan.

Overall Experience

Kent State - Kent, OH

Kent State is the university that everyone loves to pretend to hate. But at the end of the day, there are very few students who would trade their college experience for anything else. Other universities are fun to visit on the weekends, but Kent State has an atmosphere that is welcoming to students and feels like a home away from home. If you ask an alumni of Kent State about his or her college years, most will think back on them fondly, and some will even say they were the best years of their life.

Kent State is known for its parties, but it’s obvious that drinking is not all that matters to the students here. Year by year, Kent State is gaining more and more prestige in the university world by improving its programs and facilities. Most of its staff members are experts in their fields and have years of experience, which they are happy to pass down to budding students. The majority of the students at Kent State have moved past the liberal, in-your-face attitude from the ‘70s that put KSU in the history books. They’re just trying to get their degree, move on to the next phase in their lives, and have a little fun while doing so.
