The teachers seem very educated, very caring, and supportive. Everybody I met so far is open for more personal relationships and getting to know their students better if the students are willing to make a step forward. I don’t find all of my classes are 100 percent interesting, but I think the teachers are making the best out of them.

Overall, IUPUI has a lot to offer to a lot of different people. The diversity of students at IUPUI is an illustration of what the University has to offer. Everyone is catered to in some way, whether it is through ESL learning, studies abroad, 24-hour computer facilities, wireless access, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. service projects, resume assistance, and so much more. IUPUI may not be a traditional campus with frat parties and hookups, but students really seem to appreciate its function and purpose, which is to promote professionalism, diversity, and urban learning.
With praise comes the reality—students shouldn’t go to a college thinking that everything will always be great. As with any university, IUPUI has its major flaws. As far as the physical campus itself is concerned, athletic facilities are not yet to the standard that the students can accept, parking is way below the needs of the students, and campus food is not worth the paper plates that it is served on. Too harsh? Maybe, but through the quotes in this book the students have shown how much they truly value their school. The professors, overall, seem to be doing a nice job, and computer service is great at IUPUI. As long as you take the bad with the good, IUPUI will be, at least, a beneficial and educational experience for you.

"I love campus, except for the parking. There are so many new people to meet and so many activities to partake in. There is always something going on, and people are everywhere."

"My overall experience has been great so far. Being a non-traditional student with limited amounts of time to dedicate to school, I find the whole experience exhilarating. The faculty and the campus, and the various satellite classes available, make continuing my education a reasonable goal. Everyone is very helpful, and that helps me to have a positive educational experience."

"I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience at IUPUI. I benefited from all the amenities of a big school (scholarships, research facilities, computer labs, jobs) while still receiving the attention and care of a small school. The access to professors and programs is unparalleled. If you are going to college to party, IUPUI may not be the school for you. But if you are coming here to learn and grow, personally and professionally, IUPUI is the right fit."

"I can’t complain too much. There will be problems everywhere you go. My concern is with parking and the athletic facilities. I love my professors and they seem to care about my success. I have many home phone numbers of my professors—this is nice, and it has come in handy on many occasions. I feel challenged yet befriended by my teachers, and this makes for a quality education."

"It’s been a great experience, but I still can’t wait to get back to IU-Bloomington! I like to feel like I am on a residential campus with meal plans, dorms, and parties."
