The teachers are very accessible and well-versed in their field of study. As much effort as they put into making themselves scholars, they put more effort into helping each student understand the material in a comprehensive and thorough manner.

Overall Experience

Bucknell - Lewisburg, PA

An overwhelming amount of students say that they cannot imagine being in college anywhere else and are extremely happy with their decision to attend Bucknell. Many students have gripes about the isolated location, lack of diversity, and emphasis on Greek life. However, these issues all seem to dull in comparison to the overwhelming sense of community that many Bucknellians admit to feeling. Most think of the “Bucknell Bubble” as a bad aspect of their college experience, but it also appears to be the very thing that has made Bucknell the cohesive place that students say they love.

Bucknell is a place where students can flourish both academically and socially in a small, supportive environment. Professors are deeply committed to the students and the students in turn seem to be genuinely interested in learning. The campus is breathtaking physically, and you will often find yourself in awe that you are walking in the academic quad through autumn leaves, or watching a crisp, cold winter sunset from the top of Freas Hall. Bucknell may not be located in the hustle and bustle of a city, with new and eccentric sites around every corner, but what Bucknell has is a very real sense of family—something that no city school could ever achieve.
