I’ve met some of the most amazing professors this year, but also some crappy ones. The best way to get good professors is to go to www.ugbc.org and click on PEPs, which are student evaluations of professors. It really helps for course selections.

Overall Experience
Boston College -
Boston, MA
The general feeling seems to be that Boston College is a wonderful school and an incredible experience. However, the first few years can be tough, as you may not be prepared for the enormity of the college experience. If you’re from a very diverse high school, you will certainly be shocked at the very different atmosphere that will surround you at BC. Furthermore, so many of your peers can appear like they’re having the time of their lives, and you might feel like you’re faking it, especially at first. Yet, staying the course is absolutely worth it, as Boston College is a wonderful institution with many dynamic people that will truly challenge and amaze you. If you give the school a little time to grow on you, it certainly will and you’ll be really glad you gave it a chance.
Also keep in mind that while parties and tailgates are enjoyable, they are not the only things college life is about. Yes, you want to have fun, and you will once you get to know people a little better, but there are other reasons you came here. Remember that you are going to college to receive an exceptional college education, and Boston College will certainly deliver that and then some. Friendships flourish, enriching academics abound, and you’ll walk away a changed person.

"I had an incredible four years. I took some wonderful classes, made several amazing friends, worked hard, and had plenty of fun. I wish, though, that I had been more promiscuous."

"There are times when I wish I went somewhere more diverse, or to a smaller liberal arts school, but for the most part I’ve had a really great time and I’ve met some wonderful people. So, if I could go back in time, I wouldn’t change anything."

"I love BC. There are obvious downsides that may tip the scales a different way for you in making your decision, but I think that BC is the place I was meant to be. I’m so happy here. I would never think of transferring."

"Overall it’s a good school as long as you meet the right people. I’ve had a hard time finding people that I click with, so my experience hasn’t been as good as that of others. But if you meet fun people, it’s the best; awesome academics, great career possibilities upon graduating, fun places and parties to go to. Just make sure you get a group of friends that you can imagine yourself liking for four years."

"As a recent BC grad, the only place that I wish I were now is back there. The connections and relationships that you form while at a school like BC define the greatness that the university embodies. Unlike most schools in this country, your BC experience does not end after graduation. It follows you in everything you do, in every town or city you find yourself in. There will always be a BC grad looking to help you out, wanting to talk about how the campus is changing and what the football team’s schedule looks like. It’s a sensation that is unparalleled, and something that will truly make you proud to say that you graduated from Boston College."
